Fighting the Cold and Snow in Camden

We've been rather lucky up here in town. For those of us who don't have to commute to work, or do commute, but actually live within a reasonable distance, despite the cold and the threat of landing on one's behind, the enslaught of snow has done very little to dampen our spirits.

I don't want to praise TFL too much, as keeping a series of underground train lines running really isn't a difficult feat, but the outer sections (and therefore above ground sections) of the tube it seems have been mostly unaffected. Especially up our neck of the woods. Rather surprisingly, when popping on TFL's homepage to check whether I was going to be able to get to work last week, I was greeted by a barrage of 'Good Service' next to all tube lines. Ironic seeing as that's an unusual sight even without snow.

So London has been pretty much unaffected (though you do have to feel sorry for anyone who lives any furthur out than zone six...) But we do of course need to be on our toes. Camden council has some good information over on their website about how the bad weather could affect services, especially if we get another highly likely hit of snow.

Also, if you want updates whilst you're on the move, add Hampstead People and Camden council on Twitter. @HampsteadPeople and @camdentalking. For those of you concerned about getting your kids to school, unfortunately the only way of finding out if the school's open according to the council is to contact the school directly.

But you never know. Maybe that was it for the year... We can hope!
