A show that has dazzled audiences in New York, China and Korea is coming to the UK stage for the first time showcasing Korean musical talent.

Another Sun, an epic music drama, based on the Korean mythology of Dangun, will be performed in London, on August 27 and 28.

The spectacular, performed by the Hyundai Theatre Company, brings to life the mythical legend of the 5,000 year old Korean nation.

Another Sun is an exclusive free event for theatre lovers. For an invitation and a place on the guest list email: anothersun07@gmail.com.

“We want to give UK audiences a real taste of Korea’s rich cultural history,” said director Kim, Jin Young.

“We are absolutely passionate about the show and believe it will do for Korea what Riverdance has done for Ireland.

“I’m sure British audiences will love it. It has drama, music, dance and martial arts and tells a great story of love, humanity and the dangers of greed.”

Another Sun was scored by Jah Eun Lee and is arranged and conducted by Joseph A. Baker whose Broadway roster includes Wicked, the Lion King , Blood Brothers, Starlight Express and Little Shop of Horrors.

The musical, hailed as a “magical adventure” by one Broadway critic, centres around Dangun, the mythic human son born of Heaven God and a bear-woman Earth Mother originator of the 5,000 year old Korean nation.

“Traditional Korean rice paper lanterns are used on stage, creating a uniquely Korean atmosphere with drama and melancholy around the good and evil characters,” added Kim, Jin Young.

“At the same time we create a dynamic liveliness with stunning images created on a 3D screen, bringing to life the myths and legends.”

The Hyundai Theatre Company has been performing since 1976 and the London production at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, Rosebery Avenue, is sponsored by the Korean Government, playing to a limited audience who can apply for guest passes.

Another Sun will be performed at 8pm on Friday, August 27, and at 2.30 pm and 7.30 pm on Saturday, August 28.

Further information will be available at: www.anothersun-korea.com by the end of the month.
