Camden's Crackdown on Drugs

The borough of Camden has always been a hot-bed of drugs, dealing and taking. This activity is stereotypically centred around Camden town but as with all things it reaches out into areas like our own.
Two years ago, Camden police undertook a 'proactive operation' to tackle the drug market in Camden and the results are filtering through the system now...
A 31 year old man was sentenced to five years imprisonment for supplying class A drugs. Detective Constable Andrew Lock commented:
"This five year prison sentence should send a clear message to anyone involved in the supply of class A drugs: drug dealers on our street cannot and will not be tolerated. You will be caught and will most likely receive a long prison sentence."
So there you have it. But do the residents of Hampstead think enough has been done in our borough? Camden has always had it's history but from what I've seen, there's still a definite drug presence, even if it's slightly better hidden in Hampstead. But with new drugs such as the oddly well publicised (it got it's own double-page spread in the Metro) and still legal Methadrone, are things going to get worse or better?

I agree, there won't ever be a fix for drug culture in this country. However, as long as people don't hurt others around them, perhaps that is the most peace we'll have.

ReportIts an issue that is all over London, these things could be happening in the house next to you or at the bus stop at the end of your street! The fact is people have been using drugs for enjoyment since, well pretty much the dawn of time I don't think its anything that anyone has a quick fix for and I don't think there ever will be.
