pretty lucky here in Hampstead to have the Heath. Families have a fantastic

free resource to entertain the kids over the summer, and really everyone wins

as the young ones get entertained and exercised, parents can relax in the sun and, when home, everyone's exhausted!

But the easily entertained of us might struggle to

use the Heath in its own right as entertainment for the entire six weeks of the summer holidays. Luckily however,

there are many events aimed at children happening on the Heath over the summer. I'm not going to list them all in this article, as there are so many it just wouldn't be very interesting. For the complete list, head over to our events page, or check out the Hampstead Heath diary for all of the events happening on the Heath (for adults and children) over the next six months! But here's a couple of highlights:

    Sunday 25th July, the Rookie

Rangers Wildlife Club starts at the Hampstead Heath education centre. For

children ages 8-12. It then runs every Wednesday in August from 10AM-4PM. There's not a huge amount of information about it online, so ring 02074827073

for details and bookings. It even extends into September for those who particularly enjoy it!

Golders Hill Park is particularly good for events for children, often centring around the band stand. Once again, check out the Hampstead heath diary.

One very good site that lists a lot of the events going on is NW3Kids. A nice little website that specialises in entertain children in Hampstead and the surrounding areas!

To cool down on those hot days, there's always the Hampstead Heath Lido and Paddling Pool.

If anyone finds out any particularly interesting activities, please post them on here. And remember, don't go to the obvious places. Venues like London Zoo are always going to be packed over the summer holidays! The last thing you want is queuing with children in the summer heat!
