In the last few weeks there has been an increase in the technology that the Royal Free are currently, and will be using in the future.

The first is obviously the 35 patient feedback kiosks that were installed at the beginning of this month, as already mentioned in Jesse_Custer's article last week. On top of this, they are also piloting a text message scheme. The scheme will allow the hospital to remind patients about their up-coming out-patient appointments. This will of course improve the efficiency of the hospital and ensure that more patients turn up for their appointments.

The second improvement is the introduction of wi-fi at the Marlborough Sexual Health clinic. The reasoning behind this was that many of the patients are professionals attending the clinic before work and it gives them an opportunity to work whilst they wait to be seen.

Of course, all of these improvements are in place to make each patients visit as pleasant as a visit to the hospital can possibly be. It's good to see major organisations really stepping into the 21st century.
