Fancy Dress for Halloween in Hampstead

It’s that time of year again, when the ghosts and ghouls come out to play! I have to say it’s one of my favourites (the only time a grown adult can run around in a super-hero costume and no-one gives them a second glance). Of course though, not everyone has a Batman, nor a ghost costume just sitting in their wardrobe. If this is the case for you, then Hampstead offers several options for the aspiring Halloween reveller.

Jack's Coming to Play!
If you’re down on the West side of Hampstead, then check out Attire Bizarre. Lacking in an online presence, this shop is friendly and worth popping into. However, if you’re Hampstead Heath way, there are two excellent options!
Firstly is popping down the road to Chalk Farm. Here you’ll find Escapade, and being a chain specialising in fancy dress, unsurprisingly the range is excellent. I’ve used this shop on many an occasion and have never failed to be impressed by the randomness of what I wanted, and their ability to have it in stock!
However, if you want to keep it a little closer to home, and at the same time support a family business rather than a chain, there’s a little party shop, brilliantly named ‘Party Party’, down the back of Royal Free. I stumbled upon whilst walking the back streets (nothing sinister I assure you) and have to return, just to take a photo of the rather lovely sign on the front of the door: ‘Please come in! We’re open!’. Admittedly, it’s one of those shops that is a little daunting to enter, as you can’t see inside, but I assure you they’re lovely. Not on our business directory at the moment, but check out their website here.
So there you have it. Three places in Hampstead to fulfil all of your Halloween needs. Yet I know not everyone’s up for a party on Halloween night. If you’re one of those, but still want to make an evening of it, and at the same time be a little scared, I would highly recommend the always brilliant Everyman Cinema. The cinema is becoming the Hampstead House of Horrors around Halloween and will be showing Let The Right One In, The Shining and Dracula. A fantastic selection of films for the more sophisticated of you out there!
