A few weeks back I mentioned a series of robberies, all involving two men and a moped. It seems they are still going on and as suspected, have crept into Hampstead. In response to this, the police have launched 'Operation Behrami'.

The most recent attack was on a 75 year old man near Belsize Park, and previous to that, a woman talking on her phone whilst walking down North End Way in Hampstead had her watch and other jewellery demand of her.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Strugnell released the following statement:

'There is a great deal of work underway to apprehend those responsible ... I'd like to assure the community that additional resources are present in the area, including high visibility patrols and specialist robbery squad officers supported by staff patrolling on marked motorcycles.'

Anyone with any information should contact Camden Police on 0300 123 1212 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
