Hampstead Crime Rates

An interesting site has been created by the Metropolitan Police that allows the public to compare crime rates in their local areas.
Crime in Hampstead is average for the country, but in comparison to 'similar policing areas in England and Wales' is actually slightly above average. Not too surprising for an area of London.
However, our crime rates have actually increase quite drastically over the past year, from 103.7 to 120.3 being the average number of crimes.
The most common crimes in Hampstead are vehicle crime, which has more than doubled in the past year, and anti-social behaviour, which is the most common crime in Hampstead at an average of 60 incidents.
Of course, compared to other areas of London, we're relatively low, but it seems worrying that crime seems to be increasing at quite an alarming rate. Should we be worried, or are these just statistics making things seem worse than they are?
