Pond Street to Become One Way For Two Months

Drivers in Hampstead will be disappointed to know that driving around Hampstead is about to become even more difficult.
As it is, roads around East Heath road and especially around the Royal Free Hospital are congested enough in the mornings and evenings. Unfortunately Pond Street, the road that runs along the front of the Royal Free Hospital is going to be closed one-way for two months.
The reason is to allow for work that will upgrade the electrical infrastructure in the area around the Royal Free. The work begins tomorrow morning (Monday 21st March) and will continue for two months, so presuming that it runs on schedule, we can see the road returning to normal towards the end of May.
So my advice would be, if Pond Street features in your usual route to work, maybe consider a detour over the next couple of months to save yourself time and stress! In the meantime, if you do need to travel to the hospital, there will me signage to direct people safely.

And this is why no-one in London should drive.
