Anyone who uses West Hampstead Thames Link station will have noticed the ongoing work over the past months. It has been confirmed this week that the work should be finished by December. The main changes will include a new entrance (to replace the current one) on Iverson Road and work to improve Inverson road and the surrounding landscape so that it can handle the large numbers of commuters.

The change in entrance may sound like an annoyance to many residents who live on the Sumatra road side of the station, as it will mean a longer walk to and from the station, but for the general public, the new entrance will mean easier connections between the Thames Link station and the West Hampstead Underground and Overground stations.

There is also an opportunity for photographers to have their work displayed when the station is opened. Network Rail and the Ham&High are running a competition with an under 16s category and the usual adult category. There will be six winners and they will have their work displayed in the new entrance of the station. Visit the Network Rail website to enter, though remember that the closing date for the competition is October 30th.
