On January 29th, Pentameters Theatre were to host an evening of live music and comedy to raise money for the charity Shelter Box, who are helping the victims of the flood that recently took place in Mindanao in the Philippines.

Amongst the line-up, which includes London based acts such as The Supernovas, 2010 Busker of the Year Noemie, as well as house-hold name Kate Nash. Nash, who had a number 1 album in 2007, will, along with the other acts, be playing an acoustic set at the event.

Organiser Sarah May said 'My mother is Filipino so when I saw this news obviously the first thing I wondered is if my family in the Philippines had been affected. Luckily they weren't, they don't live on the same island, but I noticed that this only seemed to be on the news for about a day unlike some other natural disasters which have affected people in the masses. Many people wouldn't be aware of it and wouldn't be donating to it, so that's why I decided to put this on. I am a singer/songwriter and am friends with many talented musicians so thought why not use my love and their love for performing music to help people.'

Due to popular demand however, the event has been relocated to the Enterprise in Chalk Farm. I bit of a shame for Hampstead, such an event at Pentameters Theatre would have been intimate and rather interesting to watch, but for the sake of raising money, the move is definitely a good one.
