Today was the day that the UK's A-level students received their results. Always a nervous time for students. If they're heading to university, the results will secure, or deny them their place, and if they're not, then their A-levels could mean a job in the future.
Last year, Hampstead's schools did rather well in relation to the rest of the country, and the top two schools last year, have once again impressed.
Both Henrietta Barnett and South Hampstead School improved upon last years already impressive results. The students at Henrietta Barnett achieved 98.5% A*-B whilst South Hamstead School's girls were not far behind with 97%.
Of course, there are many figures and results that can be banded around, with many of the school's pupils gaining places at Oxbridge. Yet the schools' statements best sum-up the results. Mr Blond from Henrietta Barnett had the following to say:
'These are the best A-level results in the school's history. It is a fantastic set of results for our students and reflects a great deal of hard work and commitment. Congratulations must go to the girls themselves and all of their teachers.'
Similarly, Jenny Stephen of South Hampstead School was delighted with this year's results. 'Our girls have excelled in a diverse range of subjects which is a true reflection of the individuality and excellence of South Hampstead.'
The results of the other schools in the area are gradually trickling out, and we'll keep you up to date over the next few days.
