A film has been released describing the volunter work that staff at Hampstead's Royal Free hospital have put in to help eliminate blindness in Uganda.
The Royal Free ophthalmology department has been working as part of the Vision 2020 program for three years. The program is an opportunity for hospitals in developing countries to learn from teaching hospitals in the UK.
The Royal Free's staff have been giving their free time to visit Mulago hospital in Kumpala to share their knowledge. The new film,'The Uganda Eye Project', shows the work the staff have been doing in a country that currently has one ophthalmologist per 810,000 people.
