Camden council are offering one thousand free shovels to help local community groups in the borough clear snow from footpaths over the winter.
The shovels are completely free of charge and are available to groups such as tenant and resident associations, volunteer groups and local business groups who wish to prepare for this year's likely onslaught of snow.
Shovels are available to be picked up in person from the Arlington Road depot, 211 Arlington Road, London NW1 7HD between 8am to 3:45pm, Monday to Friday. Anyone who requests a shovel will be required to leave their details and the details of the group and area that will be using them. A maximum of four shovels per group is allowed, though any shovels requested will, from that point, be the property of the group.
The council will also provide information on where their grit bins are located, tips on how to clear snow safely, alongside legal advice from the government.
